In the world of physically exhilarating sports like bodybuilding and mixed martial arts, athletes constantly push their bodies to the limit. However, this, at times, hinders the process of repairing and rebuilding their muscles for optimal performance. Hence, the concept of recovery becomes a crucial yet confusing aspect of their training regime. And the UFC Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed his ultimate trick to recovery, a method that has also got validation from the bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger.

While many bodybuilding enthusiasts often engage in elaborative techniques or therapies, Khabib suggested a rather simple practice of getting proper sleep.

Khabib Nurmagomedov explains how sleep is his recovery method

Khabib Nurmagomedov, known for his dominant performances in the octagon, recently shared his perspective on recovery. In a video posted on the popular Instagram ‘bodybuilding.com’ page, Khabib revealed that for him, recovery is as simple as getting enough sleep.

He emphasized the importance of taking sleep “ between trainings at least 2-3 hours,” ensuring that his body has sufficient time to rest and recover. He emphasized that proper sleep ensures that the muscles rebuild stronger, leading to improved performance and reduced risk of injuries.

The UFC star suggested that there is often a lot of confusion and misinformation about the correct methods of muscle recovery. However, Khabib has always chosen to stick to the basics. The UFC champion said, “A lot of people call it like massage, strain, or like supplements, but for me, recovery is sleep.“ He revealed that he has made it a priority to find time for at least 2 hours of sleep during the day. By allowing his body to recover and recharge through ample sleep, Khabib maximizes his physical and mental capabilities.

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s opinion supports Khabib’s

Khabib’s sleep-focused recovery method is not just mere thought but a legitimate solution. Even one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has also supported this notion for quite a long time now. Schwarzenegger has emphasized the importance of sleep in his own training and recovery routine.

In fact, in one of the editions of his newsletter, the Austrian Oak suggested his fans make a one-hour fix routine to relax their mind and take proper sleep. “Adding 1-hour of sleep to your day can help support healthier eating habits, reduce hunger, and limit the likelihood that you crave foods that are higher in fat and sugar.” he wrote.
