A man and woman have been found dead in a car in Chelmsford.
The pair, believed to be aged in their 20s, were discovered in Fox Crescent on Monday morning, Essex Police said.
Officers are treating the deaths as unexplained, and next of kin have been informed.
A police cordon was put in place due to concerns about "a potential noxious substance inside the car".
Police said this was "part of standard procedure" to ensure the safety of emergency service personnel and the public, and that the scene was declared safe after checks.
The East of England Ambulance Service received a call to an incident in the street just after 11am and dispatched two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and a hazardous area response team, a spokesman said.
Police remain at the scene.
