Felmy left a lasting mark as Kommissar Haferkamp, one of the many investigators that have taken turn in high-profile TV detective series “Tatort.”

Felmy was born in Berlin and started stage acting after the war. He landed a lead role in drama “Sharks and Small Fish” in 1953 and appeared in a 1959 adaptation of Thomas Mann novel “Buddenbrooks” and Alfred Hitchcock’s cold war thriller “The Iron Curtain.”

After appearing in some 30 films, he concentrated on theater, and eventually became a well-known actor on TV. In 1974, he started as Kommissar Haferkamp in “Tatort,” the detective series which has been running since 1971.
