Just when you thought the costumes were getting a touch too bizarre, Gaga goes and does away with them completely.

The star stripped right down to her birthday suit to debut new track Venus completely in the nude during a special appearance at G.A.Y over the weekend.

Starting the performance in a floor-length, angelic white gown teamed with flowing long locks, Gaga moved her arms in a floating, hippy-like fashion as she performed in London.

Then, as the new song neared the end, she shocked the crowd by throwing off the gown completely to step out on stage naked.

Speaking about her clothing choices (or lack of, in this case), Gaga recently told The Independent: "All of my songs have meaning, all of my clothing has iconography buried into it. But by the same token, [my work] is just as special if you look at it in its shallowest form. The point is that it's memorable. [To make] commercial art be taken seriously is a difficult task."

The singer also performed live on The X Factor this weekend, still scantily clad in a nude, skin-toned bikini, but with more clothes on than her stint at G.A.Y.

Writhing around in front of a giant replica of Botticelli's Birth Of Venus masterpiece, the star gave the contestants a demonstration of how to put on a good show.

Gaga also extended an olive branch out to the Osbournes live on air, in an attempt to end a long-time feud with judge Sharon's daughter Kelly Osbourne.

But things didn't go quite as planned when Gaga posted a picture of herself with a cake for Kelly's birthday.

"Not to be ungrateful but why would you send me a birthday cake via my MOTHER in a country half the would away?#JustSendItToME #LoveNotWar," Kelly tweeted.

She then posted a picture of the cake on Instagram with the hashtags "Eat my s***" and "Hypocrisy".

Gaga is gearing up to release new album ARTPOP on 11 November.
