Police have arrested a Stroud man on suspicion of assault after a 49-year-old local man was found on a canal path with a stab wound to his back. The ambulance service alerted the police to the injured man at around 6.15 this morning, Friday June 15. He was found on a footpath that runs over the canal near to the new road layout on the A419 in the town.
