In a recent interview, however, the personalities of Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso popped too much. In fact, the WWE Universe witnessed a completely different side of them after their latest championship triumph.
Rhodes and Uso caused a major upset at WWE Fastlane by beating The Judgment Day. This converted a newly assembled team into the Undisputed Tag Team Champions and definitely called for a celebration. However, Rhodes and Uso couldn’t hold their horses long enough to get done with everything before celebrating. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso aren’t really the first tag team that comes to mind for any WWE fan. However, both wrestlers have displayed both their merit and star power in singles competition. In their tag team debut, the pair defeated The Judgment Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest in a high-stakes match, which ended with a surprising result.
It doesn’t need to be said that both Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso had problems with The Judgment Day. This made the prospect of dethroning them even more fun. In fact, it was fun enough for the duo to get absolutely wasted before a press conference.
A video on YouTube captured the drunk antics of the duo as the new champions tried to answer interview questions. However, both of them miserably failed at it. Although Cody Rhodes could still manage to hold his liquor properly, Jey Uso was a complete goner. Though it was pretty apparent already, Rhodes admitted that they had drunk alcohol prior to the press conference.
In the video, Rhodes revealed, “I’m going to give you a full disclosure…… full disclosure UD and I might have had a libation or two on the bus maybe uh.”
Things turned especially crazy when Uso let out a loud “yeet!” while Rhodes was answering a serious question. Joining his co-champ, Rhodes ended the interview with a “yeet” of his own and walked away with Jey Uso. But the fun wasn’t over as Triple H joined immediately after and made fun of the drunk champs.
Triple H takes a humorous dig at Cody and Jey
WWE’s COO Triple H is known for being professional and slick with his interview responses. However, The Game took a different approach to this particular press conference and carried on the vibe set by Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso. After the new Tag Team Champions vacated their chairs, Triple H came in and took a seat. But, before he was completely seated, The Game also uttered a completely sober “yeet.”
The Game certainly knows how to chill and didn’t stray from the primary goal of WWE: entertainment. While the day ended with loads of laughs and chuckles, the WWE Universe eagerly awaits what comes next. The tag team championship will force a detour on the personal storylines of both Rhodes and Uso.
A new title means a holdup for Rhodes to win a WWE title to complete his story. This also means that Uso will spend more time away from The Bloodline. What can WWE possibly have in store for Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes?
